Well we had a little break from the West Texas heat. Chasing nocturnal elk is quite a challenge. I had a trip to Sugar and Teeter found it challenging to keep the big fish on the line. Friday we lost 5 and yesterday 6, which would have made both days around 30lb days. Numbers were great just couldn't keep the big ones on. On a good note the elk are starting to daylight and round up their cows, so hopefully things are fixing to change for the better.

The past week I've been in West Texas chasing Elk. With the days being 100+ degrees and the nights in the 70's, these guys have gone nocturnal adding a whole new element to the game. Thermals and night vision are the only ways to see whats going on and you better be on them all night or you'll miss the action. Oh and don't even get me started on the rattlesnakes you can't see but only hear.
